I used the Ultimate Phonics program for my daughter starting when she was 2 years old. We made a game of it every day, and soon finished the complete program in about 6 months. I have researched and used many other reading programs, but yours is far and away the best that I have seen. Your approach is phonics based, logical, systematic, highly motivating, and very effective in producing true mastery of the skills involved. As a middle school teacher, I realize the importance of students reading on grade level. No other program was able to compare with Ultimate Phonics. I used to think that if it cost more, and you see the advertisements on television that it had to be “the best,” but that wasn’t true.

Last year during Kindergarten, my eyes were opened when the teacher told me at a conference that my son scored the lowest on the Lexia Assessment, (a reading phonics test required by the district). I was very disappointed, being that he had been on the Hooked on Phonics program for over a year. I heard about the Ultimate Phonics Reading Program and decided to give it a try. Little did I know that it would prove to be the “Success” tool that he needed. After 4 months on the program, my son scored the highest in the class on the Lexia assessment, and scored in the top percent on the state’s standardized test.

I LOVE Ultimate Phonics. I wish I had had it for my older kids. I had two that were struggling to learn to read and I was recommended Ultimate Phonics by a friend. The program taught them everything. I didn't have to sit there and tediously teach them because the program did all that for me and these two being boys sure seemed to like being in control of their own learning and not having to sit there and sound everything out for mom. There are absolutely no frills in this program which I really like. Straight, short, and to the point. It took them probably about an average of 10 minutes a day to work through the lessons. For the past 6 months, I have been using your Ultimate Phonics Reading Program to help my 11 year old son who has dyslexia and other learning disabilities. He does about 1-3 lessons per day for approximately 4 days each week. When he first started the program, my son was at a 1.9 GE reading level. Now he is at a 3.7 GE reading level. I am amazed and relieved at his progress. Our 6 year old has been using the Ultimate Phonics program for about a year and is now reading at about a grade 2 level according to local educators. We love how the program easily progresses with no prep necessary for the busy parent and he loves to print off his word lists to read to his dad at the end of the day.

One morning, while our 6 year old was using the Ultimate Phonics program, our autistic son, who hadn't spoken anything clearly by 4 years of age, sat down beside his brother at the computer and suddenly started to repeat the words right along with his brother!

I (his mother) was brought to tears as he spoke the words so clearly right along with the voice that I immediately called up my parents and my husband exclaiming "HE CAN TALK!".

This was a huge pivotal moment in my son's life because up until this point we weren't sure if he understood how to communicate and we were exploring through his speech therapy ways of teaching him sign language on the chance that he might never speak.

The Great Plains Literacy Council uses this program on a computer that is only used by literacy people and students. Students can ask at the desk for the disk and use it in times when their tutor is unavailable. I find it a very good program that is student friendly for literacy students. The second set of your program is used in a TANF program (Temporary Aid to Needy Families-used to be called Welfare) of students who received assistance and must attend this program to receive public assistance and read below a sixth grade level. We are a smaller Adult Basic Education program and we tend to have several ESL students. One of our ESL students is a lady from Korea. She has lived here several years, but still has some problems with English. She has had great success with the Ultimate Phonics program. It is a benefit for her to be able to hear the pronunciation of the word as she is seeing it. We had worked with phonics flash cards previously. This proved difficult as we all pronounce words in different ways. We have a distinctive dialect here in Indiana. Our dialect tends to differ from county to county as well as north to south.

The bottom line is that this program works wonderfully! We like the double emphasis of hearing and seeing the words at the same time. And the fact that they are all pronounced in the same manner. There is a good focus on how words in English are put together.Kim Berry, Literacy Teacher
