  1. Go into the WIN.INI file (from Windows click Start, Run, type in "sysedit" without quotes, press enter).
  2. Find the section titled "Paradox Engine".
  3. Locate the line that says "NetNamePath=C:\".
  4. Change the C:\ to the name of a folder with full modify privileges for all users. The folder name must use short filenames, no longer than eight characters with no spaces. (e.g. C:\TEMP or C:\WINDOWS\TEMP are OK, C:\Program Files\Ultimate Phonics is not OK).
  5. Save the WIN.INI file.

Error Message: "Initialization Failed..." (Network)

The full error message is Initialization failed not enough memory or the file is damaged. This error is fairly rare, but when it occurs it is usually when you are first running Ultimate Phonics on a network. The solution is to give your users full modify privileges for the Windows temp folder (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\TEMP). Ultimate Phonics requires access to that folder to run properly.
